A quick perusal of guitarist David Torn’s biography reveals a virtual who’s who of pop and rock titans to whom he’s loaned his talent over the years.
For David Bowie, Torn played on three records — 2002’s “Heathen,” 2003’s “Reality” and 2013’s “The Next Day.” He contributed mixing and production work for guitar god Jeff Beck’s 2003 record, “Jeff.” That’s him handling guitars on Tori Amos’ 2002 album “Scarlet’s Walk.” And after Madonna discovered Torn’s 1987 album “Cloud About Mercury” was sampled for her hit song “What It Feels Like for a Girl,” she credited him as a co-writer….
